1980: Memories from Josephine Stevenson Oakley

Josephine Stevenson Oakley shared her Trident Academy memories for this blog — thank you, Josie! For Senior Superlatives, Josie earned the title of Most School Spirit. She also served as Student Council President, was on the Hawkeye student newspaper, and played basketball and volleyball.

“Words are hardly adequate to describe what TA did for me. It gave me hope, confidence and my very best friend in the world. Curtis Bibb lived with me for two years, as she was from Charlotte. Also, Nan Graham, who was my English teacher, really believed in me and helped me in too many ways to mention. I am still in touch with her today. I am not sure where I would be if it wasn’t for TA, and I am forever grateful for the many gifts I took with me.”
