Through individual, multi-sensory, research-based teaching approaches, and a qualified and experienced faculty, Trident Academy is a K-8 school that embraces cognitively capable children diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, or Asperger’s/HFA. With a strong academic program founded on the Common Core Standards, our goal is to provide these talented learners with the tools and the confidence to successfully transition to a conventional academic program.
A safe, nurturing and focused environment supports learning and confidence building. Language –based learning differences are addressed using the Orton-Gillingham approach, an approach that is both diagnostic and prescriptive. Students diagnosed with Asperger’s/HFA will find highly individualized instruction and school-wide positive behavior support. An emphasis on functional communication, social skills training, and school–ready skills, combined with occupational, psychological and ABA therapy services prepares these students.
The School for Language Based Learning Differences serves students in grades one through eight. Beginning in Fall of 2013, The School for Asperger’s/HFA will accept students in grades K, one, and two with plans to grow an additional grade each year. Enrollment in both programs is limited to eight students per grade.
