The School for Asperger’s/HFA at Trident Academy

Where bright minds find bright futures.

The School for Asperger’s/HFA at Trident Academy helps cognitively capable students with diagnosed autism spectrum disorders, or those presenting similar behaviors, to transition and thrive in a conventional learning environment. These students each present with different learning needs that range from socialization deficits to processing disorders to academic support. By providing individualized educational plans, behavior modification supports, and multi-sensory learning for each of these students, we remain on target for preparing cognitively capable children to transition out of Trident Academy academically and socially.

Families, find comfort.

Our small classes are led by highly trained teachers who use a multidisciplinary approach as they teach the Common Core Standards. The instruction includes an emphasis on functional communication, Executive Functioning, social skills training, school-ready skills necessary for transition, assistive technology, and hands-on instruction that incorporates drama, music, movement, and yoga into the classroom.

This program currently educates students in Kindergarten through Grade 3, though a grade will be added each consecutive year through Grade 8.
