Orton-Gillingham

At Trident Academy, we teach differently. Our educators help students who are diagnosed with language-based learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. Students who struggle with acquiring basic language skills such as reading, reading comprehension, spelling, and writing, thrive at Trident Academy. Rooted in contemporary research and with 70 years of teaching practice, the Orton-Gillingham instructional philosophy uses a model that is highly diagnostic and individualized in its approach to educate students. Instruction is structured, systematic, and multisensory to anchor students’ learning. The philosophy is integrated into all subject areas and all Trident Academy teachers who educate students with language-based learning disabilities are trained in Orton-Gillingham. Trident Academy is one of 11 schools in the United States accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE).
