Open House Dates

Trident Academy will host three Open Houses for the community on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 8:30 a.m.; Thursday, May 1 at 9:00 a.m.; and Wednesday, May 14 at 11:30 a.m. The school is located at 1455 Wakendaw Drive in Mt. Pleasant.

The Open Houses are for parents who are interested in learning more about the school and how its services may benefit their child. Trident Academy is accepting admissions applications for kindergarten through eighth grade in The School for Language-Based Learning Differences, and for kindergarten through fifth grade in The School for Asperger’s/HFA.

During the Open House, attendees will tour the nine-acre campus and see classes in progress, including use of the ABA approach in the School for Asperger’s/HFA and the Orton-Gillingham approach in the School for Language-Based Learning Differences.

The Assistive Technology Lab will also be open during the Open House. Assistive technology is software and hardware that helps students compensate for challenges in learning and enables them to avoid the frustration that often accompanies those challenges.

About the School for Language-Based Learning
Trident Academy’s signature program, the School for Language-Based Learning Differences educates K-8 children diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. One of just a handful of schools in the nation accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, Trident Academy’s educators work with each child, individually developing a diagnostic and prescriptive program that encompasses the Common Core Standards.

About the School for Asperger’s/HFA
The School for Asperger’s/HFA at Trident Academy helps cognitively capable students with diagnosed autism spectrum disorders, or those presenting similar behaviors, to transition and thrive in a conventional learning environment. By providing individualized educational plans, behavior modification supports, and multi-sensory learning for each of these students, we remain on target for preparing cognitively capable children to transition out of Trident Academy academically and socially.
