Students and alumni who attended Trident Academy now live across the nation – and more than 40 returned for the 2011 Oyster Roast, held on November 5, 2011. These former students are amazingly successful – they are chefs, architects, boat captains, restaurant owners, contractors, artists, landscapers, environmentalists, and entrepreneurs.
“I just love seeing all our alumni and hearing about their successes, which is why I work diligently to bring them together more often,” says Lael Byrd, alumni committee chair. “It is wonderful to see former students connecting with old friends (and teachers!) and talking about their time at Trident Academy. It always does my heart good to see these ‘children of mine’ who have grown into such wonderful, happy, successful adults, many of whom have children of their own!”
The students who attended the Oyster Roast attended Trident Academy between 1977 and 2009. The furthest traveled by an alum was 633 miles from New Orleans, Louisiana.
All proceeds from the event are used by Trident Academy’s Parent and Teacher Association (TAPA) to enhance the academic experience for students, including support for the school’s unique multisensory curriculum.
Trident Academy will be hosting its annual auction on February 25, 2012 at the Holliday Alumni Center at The Citadel.
