Oyster Roast fundraiser for Trident Academy

More than 200 people attended an Oyster Roast fundraiser for Trident Academy, a K-12 independent school in Mt. Pleasant, held Saturday, November 5, 2011. The event attracted more than 40 alumni who attended Trident Academy between 1977 and 2009.


All proceeds from the event are used by Trident Academy’s Parent and Teacher Association (TAPA) to enhance the academic experience for students, including support for the school’s unique multisensory curriculum.


“It was amazing to see the community support for our students,” says Joe Ferber, headmaster of Trident Academy. “I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to talk with our alumni. They are now successful chefs, contractors, restaurant owners, and boat captains – and many attribute their success to their experience at Trident Academy.”


Trident Academy only hosts two fundraisers each year. The next will be an auction held on February 25, 2012 at the Holliday Alumni Center at The Citadel.


Trident Academy is a coeducational independent school for K-12th grade students with learning differences to include those diagnosed with the following learning disabilities: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, central auditory processing disorder, non-verbal learning disabilities and ADHD/ADD. Students with learning differences benefit from our multi-sensory environment, which helps each child to develop skills that will prepare him or her to become independent learners and self-advocates throughout their entire education experience and into their lives.
