Grandparents Day

Trident Academy students hosted dozens of grandparents and special friends on Friday, May 4, 2012. They joined students from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.  as a way to bring families together and show appreciation.

The grandparents attended each class so they could meet the teachers, get a feel for the classroom environment, and see their grandchild’s friends. Grandparents also saw a Language Enrichment and Development (LEAD) demonstration to better understand the Orton-Gillingham approach.

The goal of the day is to create an enjoyable, memorable experience for the children and their grandparents. Both generations should know they are loved and appreciated and we hope this was a stepping stone for creating intergenerational programs and bringing grandparents into our community.
