Summer programs for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, or ADHD
LBLD Summer Enrichment Program | June 8 – July 3, 2015
The Summer Enrichment program provides a short, intensive program of remediation through small group instruction. Classes are designed to remediate deficiencies as well as provide further development in reading comprehension, written expression, spelling & vocabulary and mathematics using multi-sensory techniques. Academic Therapy | summer-long opportunity
1:1 Individualized tutoring available throughout the summer and school year.
In academic therapy, Orton-Gillingham trained Trident Academy teachers are able to focus on the individual needs of the student in 1:1 tutorial sessions. A multi-sensory, structured and sequential approach is used in the teaching of reading, writing or math. The academic therapist designs an ongoing diagnostic and prescriptive program for each student and provides progress reports and updates to parents. Camp Seahawk | Session 1: June 8 – July 2, 2015 | Session 2: July 6 – 30, 2015
A summer-long camp will provide activities such as equine therapy, yoga, field trips, sports, woodworking, legos, robotics, music therapy, sensory regulation, and social skills enrichment. Orton-Gillingham Associate Level Summer Institute | July 20 – 31
Educators can learn an effective approach for teaching children with language learning difficulties.
Free Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy Training course | August 3 – 6, 2015
Families with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder are invited to attend a free course on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Participants will learn about the ABA methods and principles needed to work effectively with children with autism and other special needs. Trident Academy will provide background information on autism spectrum disorders, how to take data, and how to teach new skills using prompting, shaping, chaining, task analysis, and more. This training will help you understand why problem behaviors occur and what interventions you can use to reduce problem behaviors.
